El SENA regional Atlántico está dando un paso revolucionario en el campo de la rehabilitación física con CEMEDER REHAB VR, un prototipo
innovador desarrollado a través de la línea de tecnologías virtuales de Tecnoparque Atlántico en conjunto con el Centro de Fisioterapia Cemeder.
Se trata de un ambiente de realidad virtual que permite mejorar la experiencia sensorial de los
pacientes con movilidad reducida en su rehabilitación. Para ello, se simulan entornos y música autóctona de Barranquilla, como el Gran Malecón del Río y el Monumento de la Aleta de
Tiburones.
“Esta iniciativa es un ejemplo brillante de cómo la tecnología y la innovación pueden transformar la atención médica y mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas. De verdad me llena de orgullo que desde nuestra regional estemos liderando el camino en la búsqueda de soluciones creativas y efectivas para la rehabilitación física. Este es un proyecto de realidad virtual que promete cambiar vidas y ofrecer esperanza a aquellos que buscan recuperar su funcionalidad”, afirmó Jacqueline Rojas Solano, directora del SENA regional Atlántico.
Por su parte, Alexánder Donado, experto de la línea de tecnologías virtuales de Tecnoparque,
señaló que “iniciamos este proyecto con la meta de hacer el primer proyecto de realidad virtual de Tecnoparque Atlántico. Es un entorno que nos permite ver y conocer de primera mano, cómo los pacientes que tienen problemas de movilidad en extremidades superiores pueden hacer su rehabilitación”.
Precisó que en el desarrollo de CEMEDER REHAB VR se contó con la integración de un aprendiz en contrato de aprendizaje y de toda la infraestructura tecnológica, incluyendo gafas de realidad virtual y equipos de cómputo robustos para desarrollo de videojuegos y renderizado.
Uno de los beneficiarios es Macario Powell, paciente de Cemeder, quien destacó la incorporación de este tipo de tecnologías para lograr una rehabilitación activa y funcional. “La experiencia me pareció genial porque además de estimular el cuerpo, estimulé la mente, el movimiento, la concentración y equilibrio”, sostuvo
Precisamente, Eliana Sarmiento, gerente de Cemeder, indicó que el centro tenía la necesidad de traer a sus instalaciones ese tipo de ambientes. “Queríamos recrear esos ambientes para poder ayudar a los pacientes en sus procesos de recuperación y que perdieran el miedo a mover sus miembros superiores”, dijo.
Para lograrlo, cuenta la fisioterapeuta Laura González, realizaron una investigación bibliográfica para encontrar proyectos similares. “Nos dimos cuenta de que la accesibilidad era limitada, muchos de los juegos no estaban estandarizados, tenían limites y rangos de edades, además no se adaptaba a las necesidades económicas de las personas. Durante el desarrollo observamos que no solamente se facilita la movilidad de los miembros superiores sino de todo su componente corporal”, expresó.
